Tip 1:

When it comes to cleaning a garbage disposal, there are one golden rulee. The rule has always been to unplug the appliance before working on it. Unplugging it is the simplest way to turn off its electricity. It’s usually connected into the wall beneath the sink.Try turning on the garbage disposal to make sure the electricity is off.

Tip 2:

Fill the disposal with half a cup of baking soda. Allow it to deodorize for a half-hour. Then pour one cup of vinegar into the sink, which will result in a foamy liquid bubbling up. Allow three minutes for this chemical reaction to zap the muck out of your disposal, and then rinse with hot tap water or boiling water.

Tip 3:

Reinstall the splash guard and reconnect the power, then pour in two cups of ice to rinse the disposal blades and remove any blockage. On top of that, pour in a cup of salt, run cold water, and turn on the garbage disposal. Allow it to run until all of the ice has been crushed. The salt and ice combine to create a powerful scrub.

Tip 4:Final Tip

While running the garbage disposal, flush the disposal with hot water. If the sink has two basins, cleaning both sides at the same time will yield the best results.
