Hello, Friends Welcome To Appliance Tech Pro, in This Post, We Are Going To Tell You About An Awesome Thing. So, let’s know how to clean dishwasher filter
1: Check the Type of Dishwasher Filter
Dishwasher filter assemblies are classified into two types: self-cleaning and manual. Self-cleaning dishwasher filters because these filters were typically equipped with loud grinders, manufacturers switched to quieter filters (no grinders) that must be manually cleaned. Look at the bottom of the dishwasher under the spray arms to see what kind you have. Self-cleaning filters are distinguished by a circular plastic grid or a series of holes that surround the filter.
2: Locate the Dishwasher Filter
Because the filter is located on the interior floor of the dishwasher, removing the bottom rack makes it easier to locate and remove. A cylindrical tubes those twist-locks into place—on the unit’s floor. Some models include a secondary lower, flat filter located beneath the cylindrical one. This filter has a hole in the center through which the cylindrical one is installed, but it does not lock in place. Both must be removed in order to be cleaned.
3: Remove the Filter
Twist the cylindrical filter in the direction indicated by the arrows to unlock it—most unlock by turning counter-clockwise. Once unlocked, gently pull it up from the dishwasher floor. Remove the second flat filter if it exists. Turn and pull out the upper filter (the cylindrical piece) to unlock and remove it. On top, there may be directional arrows. Rinse the filter thoroughly with hot, running water. If debris remains, gently scrub it away with a soft cloth or brush, such as a toothbrush. Wire brushes and scrubby pads should not be used because they can damage the filter.
4: Prepare a Cleaning
Fill a sink or large bowl halfway with hot water and a few drops of dishwashing detergent. To make cleaning easier, use a good detergent that contains a degreaser. Scrub the filter gently with a sponge or an old toothbrush to remove stubborn food particles. Next, check the area where the filters are installed for stray food particles, wiping it down with a damp towel if necessary. Hot water should be used to rinse the filter(s). If debris remains, gently scrub it away with a soft cloth or brush, such as a toothbrush. Wire brushes and scrubby pads should not be used because they can damage the filter.
5: Replace the Filter
Trace back your steps to remove the filters. Replace the flat filter first if there is one. Replace the flat filter, if there is one, and then the cylindrical filter, locking it securely in place.
6: Create a Cleaning Schedule
Make a schedule for filter cleaning to stay on top of it. If you use your dishwasher on a daily basis and don’t scrape or rinse items before loading, clean your filter monthly or, at the very least, schedule a cleaning one to two months in advance (and set it to repeat). Meanwhile, your dishwasher is ready for the next load of dirty dishes, so load it up.
